My First UTA experience...

I found this in my drafts... And I don't know why I never posted it. So here is the story! ( originally written on 1/31/12)  So I have class from 8:30-9:20 in the McKay Education Building on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Far south campus) I have to catch the Bus (Route 811) at 9:32 on the far North Side of campus by the round-a-bout. My teacher let out class 5 minutes late, and I didn't even at this point know where the bus stop was. So naturally, when I have a problem, I call my dad. As I was crossing campus, he helped me figure out where the bus stop was. Neither of us thought I would make the bus, despite how swiftly I was walking. But I exited the Browning Building at 9:32 and saw the bus at the stop. I booked it. I was running as fast as I could because the next bus didn't come until 10:30, and that is the time I had to be at work. Just as I approach the stop, the bus starts to pull away and enter the round-a-bout. I (out of breath) knocked on the bus door and the bus driver let me on, although he sort of scolded me for it. (According to mu itinerary, I was too take the 811 bus which would take me to the Timpanogas Transit Center by University Mall. I would wait for 18 minutes, and then board the 850 line which travels state street.) But right after I boarded the bus, it immediately jumped on the freeway. I seriously started crying. I was alone, and I had a feeling I was definitely on the wrong bus. But I thought possibly it was going to exit at 800 N and pick up a few more stops so I waited for a sec....then we passed all Orem exits, and Lindon, and Pleasant Grove. So I called my dad who immediately left his office, and jumped in the car to come find me. I asked the bearded man next to me where this bus was going, he said Salt Lake. I started crying again. I am typically not one to cry but I was sort of unsure as to where I was going to end up. Finally, the bus exited at American Fork main, crossed a few overpasses, a few cornfields, some farms, and stopped at the frontrunner station. That is where I got off. I sat there and waited for my dad to come pick me up. I sat and sat until he finally showed up to save the day. Totally embarrassing. But a good story to tell.

Picnic on Campus!

On Monday, neither Geoffery or I have to go to work. So we were hangin out at home when Geoff invited me to go on a picnic with him! I was so caught off-guard because it is January and there is still just a little bit of snow on the ground. But it sounded fun, and we went on picnics in St. George all the time. So, we got ready for the day, headed to Little Ceasers for a five-buck pizza, and headed to find a grassy place on campus so we could go to class at the conclusion of our lunch. Despite the cold, it was so much fun! We played around and even had fun kicking snow at each other. Granted, St. George is definitely a more ideal place for a year-round picnic, but we made the best of the situation and will remember this day forever!

A lost diamond

So recently, I was driving to school and while stopped at a stoplight, I glanced down at my wedding ring to find the diamond gone. Just missing! I flipped out. It was a Wednesday morning, and just the night before I was sitting in my 2 1/2 hour Philosophy class admiring the ring that Geoff gave me when he proposed. The next morning it was gone! So in a mess of tears I called up Geoffery at work and told him of my unfortunate discovery. He, being a sweetheart, told me not to worry about it and that he would take care of everything. This past weekend, we went to St. George where the ring was purchased. We brought it back to the store and we were told that they could cover up to a 1/3 karat diamond. Mine was more than that. So we could either take the free 1/3 karat, or pay the difference of my original, which is what we ended up doing. We were in St. George less than 24 hours because of our work schedules up North. It was a short and expensive trip, but we are happy we did it! I feel so weird not wearing my ring so Geoff lent me his wedding ring to wear until mine is finished. We are still missing the original diamond, but we are still looking for it. You never know what the Lord has in store for you, and this could be his way to bless us with a few extra bucks. But I can't wait to get my ring back!

Why every girl needs a husband

So yesterday was officially the second day of school. I had attended all but one class so far and was feeling very overwhelmed. I am taking 15 credits with 6 classes. 3 3-credit and 3 2-credit courses. All of my 2-credit course teachers explained that in their opinion, the class should be 3 credits considering the work load. So essentially I am taking 18 credits while trying to work 30 hours a week and be a wife. It started to stress me out. Late last night while getting home from school, making dinner and attempting some homework I shared these stresses with Geoff. So what does he do? Mr. Romantic turns on some music and asks me to dance with him. He is a super-hero. (Let this be a lesson to all you future husbands: when your wife is stressed, dance with her.) And that is why every girl needs a husband :)

Happy New Semester!

Hey folks! Brittany here. (But Geoff says hi too) As part of a new year I would like to start blogging so with the start of a new semester I will consider it part of my homework. ;) I enjoy writing and I am not enrolled in an English class this semester so I figure here is a good place to write about my life with my wonderful husband. So check back for new information as often or as rarely as you please, and welcome to our Blog!

p.s. I am new to blogging to be patient with this boring blog as I figure out what I am doing
